As I stepped into 2016, a familiar verse caught my attention again in a new translation. Perhaps you’ve read it recently too . . .
Isaiah 43:19 (New Living Translation)
For I am about to do something new.
See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?
I will make a pathway through the wilderness.
I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.
Which line do you think caught my attention this time?
See, I have already begun!
Oh, I want this year to be marked by experiences of the newness God has already begun in my life . . . in my relationships . . . in this ministry. That’s expectancy!
If I live in expectancy I will be watching to see what God IS up to. It’s so very different from living with expectations when I put a label on my list of wants. When my expectation list goes unmet, I suffer emotional hunger and spiritual drought. Wilderness. Wasteland.
My heart’s desire is to live 2016 with brave expectancy to see what God has already begun. How about YOU? What has God already begun in your life that you might need to pay closer attention to notice this year?
