Sometimes we simply need to take time out from life and spend a few quiet moments before the Lord, meditating on his Word and remembering His promises. On Tuesday, Carey led us through the following time of reflection. If you were not able to join us, I hope you will take the time to read the …
The Power within Us
By Carey Helmink I am in the process of reading Timothy Keller’s book, King’s Cross, a study of the life of Jesus through the eyes of Mark as told in his gospel. A few nights ago, I read the story of Jesus calming the storm and have not been able to get it out of my …
Our Immutable God
By Carey Helmink As I began thinking and praying about our time together and what characteristic of God’s character I wanted to focus on, the word that kept coming to my mind was immutable. It’s possible that living with a seminary-trained pastor influenced that, but more likely it is the Lord’s sense of humor. He …
Oh For Grace to Trust Him More
By Carey Helmink I am a fairly transparent person. I’m not very good at pretending that I’m okay when I’m not. I typically call a spade a spade. I think my poor pastor husband lives with a certain amount of fear that I’m going to say something at some point that might get him fired. …
Our Great God
This week one of our teachers, Sara Eyster, shared her thoughts on the topic What Worship Means to Me. I know you will be blessed by what she had to say. What a good exercise for each of us to pursue. What does worship mean to you? It’s a personal exercise and a revealing one--even a …
Beautiful One
By Carey Helmink As human beings, made in the image of God, we are lovers of beauty. To some degree, I think this is even truer for us as women. A friend of mine who came back from a mission’s trip told me that she was astounded by the fact that women who lived in cardboard shacks …

During our opening time on Tuesday Mornings this Fall, we will be having a series of guest speakers address the topic "What Worship Means to Me." If you missed this week or had to come in late, I know you will be challenged by these words from Renee Meyer. I have a LOT of thoughts about …
Hope: A Confident Expectation
Tuesday Morning we were blessed to have Carey Helmink and the worship team lead us during our opening. If you missed this week, feel free to click HERE and sing along to one of the songs they shared. Then, take a moment to read the message Carey had for us on hope. I can't think of …
For What It’s Worth
Equipping you to worship is a tenet of our times together every Tuesday Morning. In WORSHIP you give worth or value to something; it’s excessive admiration, reverence, and respect. Some of the ways we commonly worship look like large groups singing praise songs or moments of solitude in the beauty of nature. Jesus offers a …
Immerse Yourself
What do you think about when you see a large bucket of ice water? In the past month or so social media has been flooded (pun intended) with the ALS ice bucket challenge. What makes us want to dump ice water on our heads, video it, then challenge our friends to do the same? Is …
