Kaleidoscope

Arlin shared this poem during opening time this week. Enjoy these words of restored hope with us:

Kaleidoscope

by Arlin Yrastorza

This kaleidoscope I hold in hand

seems simple in itself,

a child’s toy I once enjoyed

retired on the shelf.

What is it now that beckons me

to turn it to the sky;

internal shards of brokenness

that seem to multiply?

A quarter turn is all it takes

to change these lifeless pieces.

Once frozen prisms in a cell,

a rainbow now releases!

Truth is not the enemy

but fear of truth my foe.

Courage now, to lift my eyes

to see new things and know,

that pain was brought for purpose

and shards must have their day

if rainbows are to be released

along the broken way.
