If you listen real close, you can almost hear it—that last gasp of summer. Families are taking their final trips to the lake . . . to the pool . . . to the zoo . . . to the amusement parks. Moms are dragging their kids to the stores for back-to-school shopping. Kids are comparing class schedules, calling and texting to find out who got which teacher for the year. And those long summer evenings are not quite so long anymore.
You know what that means, don’t you? The fall semester of Equip Her bible studies is just around the corner. Almost makes me want to get up and do a happy dance.
I hope many of you were encouraged last spring to spend this summer building relationships and staying connected in God’s Word. Maybe you hosted a summer study in your home or participated in a book club with other MUMs. Maybe you were finally able to tackle a few of those books on your TBR pile. Or, maybe you joined us here on the blog and were blessed by Claudine’s class on Personal Worship. I hope so.
I also hope you are ready, as I am, to come together corporately again on Tuesday Mornings. There is nothing quite like sharing in worship, prayer and bible study with a group of like-minded women. I know you will be excited when you see the classes we will be offering for the fall semester.
Here are your options:
Moms Uplifting Moms (MUMs) // Facilitator: Laurie Harms
Just for moms! We offer a place to gather with other mothers of young children to learn how to seek God’s best for yourself and your family. Our study this session includes Stronger: Finding Hope in Fragile Places, the latest Angela Thomas DVD. Join us and discover how God is greater than every struggle you will ever face.
Cost: $10 (workbook provided)
Like us on Facebook for activity updates: facebook.com/lincolnbereanmums
1 and 2 Thessalonians // Facilitator: Kathy Bowman
NEW! This class will run September 2014 – April, 2015.
Featuring Beth Moore on DVD and complemented with our extended time in community and prayer, you’ll learn how to let go of past mistakes and discover your circumstances are not coincidental – God’s timing is impeccable! Whether you’re facing family crises, medical diagnoses, relationship troubles, doubts, or fears, you’ll come away encouraged that, even though it may not feel that way, you are exactly where Christ wants you to be!
Cost: $25 (workbook + registration for both sessions)
Pressing On: Developing a Resilient Faith // Teachers: Stacey Kuszak, Sunshine Metschke, Julie Luse
Life is hard, and life as a Christ-follower doesn’t guarantee freedom from hardship. Join us for an in-depth study of people God recognized as faithful in Hebrews. As we understand God’s character more deeply, we’ll gain confidence to trust Him in our trials and take greater risks of faith.
Cost: $10 (notebook included)
The fall session starts at 9 a.m. on September 9 and runs every Tuesday morning until December 2. Online registration will be available soon on the LBC Women’s Ministry page.
Share the news with your friends and neighbors and join us in September. I can’t wait to see you there!
