Wednesday Equippers

As an equipping ministry it’s not always easy to measure or track results.

How can you tell when women are equipped?

Recently, I’ve been delighted to see our Wednesday Night bible study deepen their commitment to equip women with the Word.  Led by teacher, Denise Davis, they’re transitioning to an inductive study method for Colossians.

“It’s always been my dream to see women digging into the Word and studying for themselves,” Denise shared.

Not only will they be learning to study together, but they’ll also use our Legacy of Prayer Journals to incorporate scripture into prayer times.

“I like the idea that we can focus on the character of God to start our prayers,” remarked Stacey Schafer, the class administrator.

While I shared the mission and vision of Equip Her studies, the Wednesday Night table leaders were busy creating Bible verse holders to be given to each woman who attends. As they focus on the framed verse at home, they’ll be reminded to let the Word of Christ dwell richly within (Colossians 3:16).

I looked around the room, noticing nods of affirmation as women shared their experiences as leaders, seeing each one accept this assignment as EQUIPPERS.

And yes, they have been equipped too!

Here’s how I can tell when women are equipped:

  • They partner with Christ in preparing their own hearts
  • They step into risky places to honor Him by serving others
  • They delight in digging deeply into God’s Word
  • They find ways to let God’s Word soak into their lives through prayer & memorization

If you would like to be equipped with this group of women on Wednesday Nights, it’s not too late. Classes start next week, September 16th, 6:30 p.m. in D103. Simply CLICK HERE to register.
